FOR a man who has previously struggled with making weight, Kell Brook swept in beneath the welterweight limit on Friday (March 27), scaling 10st 5lbs 9oz for Saturdayโ€™s world title fight with Jo Jo Dan.

Dan, a Romanian whoโ€™s based in Canada, will challenge Brook for his IBF welterweight crown at the Motorpoint Arena in Kellโ€™s Sheffield home town. Jo Jo smiled happily enough as he weighed in at 10st 6lbs 4oz.

At 8st 9lbs Gavin McDonnell, twin brother of Jamie McDonnell, made weight for his vacant European super-bantamweight title fight with Oleksandr Egorov, 8st 9lbs 7oz.

A fight not to be missed pits local man Adam Etches, 11st 5lbs 6oz, against Sergey Khomitsky, menacingly ripped at 11st 5lbs 1oz. Dangerous Khomitski was the man who handed a first loss to super-middleweight prospect Frank Buglioni.

Ahead of their appearances on the May 9 Birmingham bill, Frankie Gavin, 10st 9lbs, and Kal Yafai, 8st 2lbs, gets outing against Bogdan Mitic, 10st 7lbs 2oz, and Cristofer Rosales, 8st 1lbs, respectively.

Charlie Edwards, 8st 6lbs, gets his second professional bout against Mikheil Soloninkinkini, 8st 2lbs 10oz.

Injuries have kept Stephen Smith out of action since July last year but he scaled 9st 10lbs for his return in Sheffield.
