BRITISH heavyweights Johnny Fisher and David Allen will fight one another once again in a rematch five months on from their thrilling and controversial encounter in Riyadh.
The two men top Matchroomโs card on May 17 at the Copper Box where Fisher must win if he is to move on to bigger challenges.
Fisher returns to the venue looking for a similar result and performance to his last visit when he wiped out Alen Babic in one round last summer.
On December 21 Fisher and Allen met over 10 rounds on the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury undercard. What played out was not expected as both men threw caution to the win to produce arguably the fight of the night out-with the main event.
For all of Allenโs efforts in a career best performance he did not come out on top despite many believing he deserved the nod. Scores of 95-94 (twice) to Fisher and 93-96 to Allen ensured Fisher, 13-0 (11 KOs), remained undefeated albeit by the skin of his teeth.
โIโm looking forward to headlining my second sold-out event at the Copper BOSH Arena on May 17,โ said Fisher via a Matchroom press release.
โIโm excited to put on another great fight for the fans and win in even better fashion this time around.โ
โIโm excited to be getting another great opportunity,โ said Allen, 32-7-2 (18 KOs). โTo headline shows twice in London means a great deal to a kid from a small village in Doncaster. This time I will be bringing home the victory.โ
