JESSIE VARGAS has engaged in a war of words with fellow welterweight world champion Kell Brook as frustrations grow over continuing negotiations.
The pair have been mooted to face each other later this year for some time now, though an official announcement has not yet been made.
Brook’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, claimed the delay in finalising a deal was mainly down to securing a date at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, though Vargas has claimed on social media that the proposed date has now changed three times.
He doesn’t seem to be interested in the fight from the looks of it. Next big fight that the fans would enjoy would be the Bradley rematch!

WBO champion Vargas was outpointed by Timothy Bradley last year, though came close to springing an upset in the dying seconds as he had ‘Desert Storm’ teetering off a stern combination.
Bradley last fought in April when old rival Manny Pacquiao soundly beat him over 12 rounds, and he has made no announcements about his next steps yet.
Brook, who has been eager to secure a big fight since dethroning IBF champion Shawn Porter in 2014, showed no signs of shying away from Vargas on social media, claiming that the American will get ‘smashed everywhere.’
@Jessie_vargasJV Then let’s get it signed this week so I can tear you to pieces #inside6#unified

Despite Vargas’ concerns, it seems unlikely the unification fight will fall through at this stage and it is expected to land on pay-per-view in the UK.
