YOUTUBE star Jake Paul has issued a bitter outburst on social media, blasting Canelo Alvarez for agreeing to fight Terence Crawford in September.
The 28-year-old claims that both he and Canelo, 62-2-2 (39 KOs), had signed a contract for their previously mooted showdown to take place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, on May 3.
In fact, Paul went even further to prove his point, revealing a screenshot of their two signatures in a video he posted on X earlier this morning.
During the video, the American expressed his frustration with Caneloโs decision to face pound-for-pound star Crawford, 41-0 (31 KOs), while also condemning his four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.
It was reported by The Ring Magazine just yesterday that the super-middleweight kingโs next outing will be staged in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before his September clash in Sin City.
Of the four fights on his deal with Riyadh Season chief Turki Alalshikh โ who now owns The Ring โ Caneloโs matchup against Crawford will be his only assignment to take place outside of Saudi Arabia.
So now, as a result of him taking his fights to the Middle East, Paul has lambasted the 34-year-old for โscrewing overโ his Mexican fans.
In any case, the social media sensation has been left searching for a new dance partner following his pedestrian eight-round performance against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson last November.
The fact that he was keen to face Canelo, though, should indicate that Paul looks to square off against an opponent who, at the very least, is of a similar age to him.
