Here is an exclusive extract from Carl Framptonโ€™s interview in the Boxing News Annual:

Scott Quigg has suggested that youโ€™re contractually obliged to give him a rematch. Is that true?

Heโ€™s talking out of his arse. There was nothing in the contract that said there has to be a rematch. I think there was something about if the public demanded a rematch then there could be one, but itโ€™d have to be in Belfast. But thatโ€™s as far as it goes. There was a rematch clause in the Santa Cruz contract, but not in the Quigg contract. In the foreseeable future, I canโ€™t see a rematch with Quigg happening, because I donโ€™t think itโ€™s a fight that people would particularly want to see again. It was a boring fight, and I did what I had to do to win. I thought that our styles were going to gel a bit better, but he didnโ€™t want to fight, so I canโ€™t do anything about that. Who wants to see a rematch, apart from Quigg and [his trainer] Joe Gallagher? No one, really.
