If not Amir Khan, Juan Manuel Marquez or Ruslan Provodnikov could be next Kell Brook

Kell Brook

AMIR KHAN remains the dream fight for IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. Although Khan ruled it out for this year, when he spoke to us HERE, Brook’s promoter, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn that it could take place in November.

“I spoke to Amir at the weekend. I think we just need to look at the numbers. I think once everybody sees it in black and white, and now he hasn’t got the [Floyd] Mayweather fight, looks like, this is the fight. Like I say there’s just too much on the table to ignore,” Hearn told Boxing News.

If that fight doesn’t materialise, Brook is expected to fight towards the end of October. Brandon Rios isn’t entirely out of the frame, although Matchroom had tried to make that for September 12. “I don’t think they thought they could beat Kell Brook. I think most people in boxing know how good Kell Brook is. Made him a big offer, improved the offer, they wanted to stay in the States and box. It’s going to be hard to match Brook because he’s that good. [Juan Manuel] Marquez is entertaining the fight. There’s still small hope for Rios. [Ruslan] Provodnikov’s been mentioned, which I like. I like the [Keith] Thurman fight but that’s not going to happen yet. Of course the Khan fight so there’s quite a few options,” Hearn continued.
