Hennessy Sports claim that Scott Quigg turned down offer of $641,000 to fight Kid Galahad

HENNESSY SPORT’S PRESS RELEASE CLAIMING SCOTT QUIGG IS RUNNING SCARED OF KID GALAHAD:

If Britain is indeed the emerging capital of world boxing then we’re moving into the the inevitable days of lunacy where so-called world champions are turning down serious money from highly able challengers in favor of instead fighting “safe” opponents of little wider public interest for the express purpose of holding onto their “world championship”.

Meet WBA World super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg who has just turned down a $641,000.00 offer to fight 19-0, 24 year old, Kid Galahad preferring instead to face the likes of Boxrec’s #75 super bantamweight in the world Stephane Jamoye or #31 Tshifhiwa Munyai or #139 Diego Oscar Silva in what is a world title in the sense that a penny farthing is a bicycle worthy of taking on the Tour De France next year.

Sources close to the negotiation have noted the frustration felt by Galahad’s representatives in trying to secure a bout for the former British, European & Commonwealth champion against the lightly matched Quigg.

NOTE: Quigg’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed an offer had been made, but explained that it meant his fighter would have to fight Galahad on December 6, a date which clashes with Scott’s next outing, which is on November 22. He would be willing, however, to negotiate a Quigg-Galahad showdown for next year.
