FORMER IBF super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant is training hard and waiting for a date to return to the ring and showcase his skillset. Last seen stopping unbeaten Trevor McCumby in round nine last September, Plant gave a hint as to when he might be back.
โI’ve been in the gym, been training, been grinding, and we’re working on that now,โ he said.
โSo if everything works out, you guys can probably expect to see me back in the ring here at the end of May. And like I said, I’ve been training, I’ve been grinding, so I’ll be ready.โ
Caleb was being interviewed by his wife, Jordan Plant, as he sat ringside during the Sebastian Fundora-Chordale Booker card. Early into the main event, Plant, 23-2 (14 KOs), was already using his sharp eye to work out which direction the bout was going in.
โIt’s good action, but right now, I feel like Chordale is getting run a little hot, and Sebastian’s making him do a lot to his little. And, you know, if Chordale don’t find a way soon to slow the pace down, to hold his ground a little more, it could be a rough night for him,โ Plant presciently explained.
While the mention of โhereโ on Saturday evening was the Michelob Ultra Arena, Plant may have been referencing the Las Vegas strip rather than that specific venue. Either way, he has hit the PBC rhythm of one fight per year and needs to remain active as he approaches 33 years of age.
When Mrs Plant playfully suggested that she would try and make the fight at the end of May, Caleb responded, โI’d love that.โ
