THE final stages of the England Boxing Youth Championships Finals 2015 will be held at the Ferryhill Community Hub in Ferryhill, County Durham, 20th-22nd February 2015.
The new format will see the quarter-finals, semis and finals of the tournament be held over three consecutive days in the same way as the England Boxing National Senior Elite Finals.
The approach mirrors the set-up of international tournaments and will provide an opportunity for the most talented young English boxers to experience the demands of international boxing where they will often be expected to compete on three successive days.
โThe new format is consistent with the approach we have taken to the Senior National Finals and brings competition structures in England into line with those at international level,โ explained England Boxing Board Director and Chair of its Technical, Rules and Championships Sub -committee, Giorgio Brunoli.
โIt is designed to provide a better competitive experience for the boxers and enhance the talent pathway by giving the most capable Youths a taste of what they will experience if they go on to represent their country and box internationally.โ
