WBO world super-featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete has locked eyes with Charly Suarez for one final time, as the pair will instead lock horns tomorrow morning.
Stretching beyond the late hours of this evening โ in UK time, at least โ their clash at the Pechanga Arena, California, promises to deliver little more than a routine title defence.
With Navarrete, 39-2-1 (32 KOs), boasting far greater experience, and indeed power, at the elite level, another victory inside the distance for the all-action puncher is certainly on the cards.
That said, the 30-year-oldโs unorthodox style typically lends itself to both uncertainty and chaos, meaning that Suarez, 18-0 (10 KOs), a sturdy yet unremarkable technician, may in fact have a chance.
Either way, both combatants have now hit the scales โ seemingly overcoming their final hurdle with minimal difficulty โ ahead of what looks, on paper, to be a relatively uninspiring Top Rank card.
