ANTHONY JOSHUA did not impress Deontay Wilder as he halted Carlos Takam in 10 rounds to defend his WBA and IBF world titles. Wilder holds the WBC belt and claims Joshua would not be able to last the distance with him.
โHe will show courage until he runs out of gas, then itโs life and death for him,โ Wilder predicted, speaking to Premier Boxing Championships. โOnce heโs tired, I see him giving up. Once that happens, Iโm going to turn up the heat on him and itโs a wrap. They may throw in the towel.โ
Wilder also tried to discredit the Britonโs stirring victory over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley stadium earlier this year.
โJoshua beat Klitschko when [Klitschko] had no belts,โ he added. โAnd he was coming off a [17-month] layoff and the loss to Tyson [Fury.] Iโve seen a lot I can exploit in Joshua that Iโll keep it to myself, but he ainโt ready for me.โ
