AFTER Floyd Mayweather took to social media to dare Conor McGregor to fight him in smaller gloves, the Irish UFC star issued a rebuke of his own.

The fighters had agreed to abide by Nevada Athletic Commission rules and fight with 10 ounce gloves at 154lbs. Mayweather is suddenly floating the idea of fighting with eight ounce gloves.

Given that contracts have been agreed etc. this all seems moot. But McGregor decided to respond.

“Another handy 12 rounds today. We are prepared to destroy Floyd,” he posted on Instagram. “Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz [in the UFC]. I don’t give a f*** about the size of the glove.

“I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that.”

He added, as a parting insult, “Brittle hands.”

McGregor had accompanied this with a bizarre picture of himself leaping in the air during a sparring session.
