CHRIS EUBANK JR has sent a message to Gennady Golovkin, the WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight champion. Golovkin’s representatives and Eddie Hearn, Eubanks’ promoter, are in negotiations. To add fuel to the fire, Eubank Jr issued a warning to Golovkin on Twitter.
After Gennady mused, “Who’s ready for a fight? Who’s next?” Eubank wrote back to him, declaring, “You already know who and what’s next. I’m next and your belts are going to be ripped away from you and kept in the UK for a long time.”
Eubank Jr had previously announced: “This isn’t about money. This is about achieving my dream of becoming world champ and proving that I’m the best. This is about legacy.”
Chris is the holder of the British middleweight crown and has one loss on his record, a 2014 reverse to Billy Joe Saunders, who went on to win the WBO world title. Golovkin is the most impressive fighter in the middleweight division though a defining fight against the likes of Canelo Alvarez has so far eluded him.
