SPEAKING to Boxing News a few days after the fight, Chris Eubank Jr recounted those moments. “We’re happy, we’ve won the fight. I’m celebrating, I’m happy and then you see Nick Blackwell lying on the ground and that’s when you have to rein it in and that’s when you understand the gravity of what’s happened,” he says. “The emotion was worry. I was worried for him. You want to win, you want to beat the man, but you want him to be able to go home afterwards. Not be carried out on a stretcher, unconscious and unable to breathe. I went over to him – he was unconscious – but I said to him, I don’t know if he heard, but I said, ‘You’re going to be alright.’
