Brighton return for Harlem Eubank as fight date confirmed

Harlem Eubank

HARLEM Eubank will return to the ring on March 7 in Brighton, promoters Wasserman Boxing confirmed last night. The ever-reliable TBA is currently in the away corner with an announcement on its way. Channel 5 will televise the headliner.

Eubank is back out shedding the rust following a lengthy absence from the ring. Returning after a year on the sidelines, Harlem was understandably lethargic when defeating Nurali Erdogan in Newcastle over eight foul-filled rounds where both men felt the repeated wrath of referee Ron Kearney.

Now 30, sporting an impressive 20-0 (8 KOs) slate, the Brighton man is in need of a next-level offering. That appeared to be on the way last year when Eubank stood next to Adam Azim for a photograph as a domestic clash neared. That melted away, as did a possible Dalton Smith meeting.

None of this will come to pass if he does not get past the next mystery man on March 7 in Brighton. A few names have been whispered already. Kalle Sauerland of Wasserman Boxing will announce the opponent soon.

This Friday night card may have competition if Boxxer’s proposed show in the Royal Albert Hall, headlined by Lauren Price and Natasha Jonas, goes ahead as planned on the same evening.
