NO British fighter has had as big an impact on 2015 as Tyson Fury, the new world heavyweight champion. The United Kingdom boasts a glorious 12 world champions but Fury is at the forefront, not only did he become the worldโs leading heavyweight when he vanquished Wladimir Klitschko, he had deposed the number one in his division, who had appeared close to invincible in recent years. 54% voted for Fury as the British fighter of the year.
23% voted for have-a-go hero Anthony Crolla, who came back from career threatening injuries and a controversial draw to finally beat Darleys Perez and win the WBA lightweight title. 14% voted for James DeGale, whoโs performed expertly winning the IBF super-middleweight title against Andre Dirrell and defending against Lucien Bute. 9% voted for Jamie McDonnell who won two exciting fights against Tomoki Kameda in the US.
