DMITRY BIVOL is choosing to take the defeat to Artur Beterbiev on the chin and move on.

The former WBA light-heavyweight champion lost his title in the ring last night after his biggest rival won a 12-round majority decision.

However, the 33-year-old isnโ€™t interested in complaining about the judgesโ€™ decision which many believed he deserved to get.

โ€œI just need to be better, I just need to be perfect and thatโ€™s it – this is my philosophy on life,โ€ Bivol told Boxing News.

The fight was an absorbing encounter with swings in momentum and success on both sides. Despite there being talk about a rematch Bivol was more interested in putting the fight behind him.

โ€œIf I get the rematch I will see what I will do different. I donโ€™t want to talk about it. Turki Alalshikh, according to Eddie [Hearn], said he wants to make the rematch.โ€

He added, โ€œIโ€™m happy that I have some plans already for the future.โ€

Bivol had been respectful throughout fight week showing little interest in getting involved in anything but fighting in the ring.

Asked if the defeat was hurting, however, he replied: โ€œIt happened. I donโ€™t have time for some pity feelings. I just need to move forward, I just forget about it.โ€
